KOOIMAN MARINE GROUP CONVERTING DRY CARGO VESSEL TO TSHD

Brussels based Group De Cloedt has contracted with Kooiman Marine Group in Zwijndrecht The Netherlands to convert dry cargo vessel DC Eems to a trailing suction hopper dredge.

The vessel managed by EemsWerken (family Kornet) from Werkendam measures approximately 90 meters (295 feet) x 15 meters (49 feet). Once completed the ship will have a hopper of 2450 cubic meters (3204 cubic yards) and will be renamed as a new member of the Group De Cloedt dredging fleet.

Kooiman Marine Group is undertaking the engineering and conversion project at their shipyard and expects work to be completed by 2018.
