DAMEN REOPENS DDE OFFICES IN NIKERK

On November 9 2016 Kommer Damen chairman of the Damen Shipyards Group officially reopened the offices of Damen Dredging Equipment (DDE) in Nikerk. 

Among the many improvements the building now provides visitors with a complete ‘dredg-ing experience’ starting with displays in the hall-ways to illustrate the challenges of living in the low-lying countries and to explain why dredging has been an integral part of their history. Other floors have displays of Damen’s dredging equipment and experience. Equipment and hands-on demonstrations showcase the capabilities that Damen offers across capital maintenance environmental and aggregate dredging. 

The hosts for the opening ceremony included Hendrik Jan de Kluiver managing director of DDE Olivier Marcus director of Damen Product Group Dredging and Stefan Hansum plant manager at Van Oord who gave some insights into dredging at Van Oord and described the performance of two Damen CSD (cutting suction dredge) 650s that his company has recently put into operation.
