SANTA CRUZ GETS NEW DREDGE DECOMMISSIONS AND SELLS OLD ONE

The Seabright the dredge formerly belonging to the Santa Cruz (California) Harbor District was retired after 30 years of service. After being decommissioned disassembled and trucked away it was bought by Camenzind Dredging Inc. of Palo Alto California. Camenzind said it plans to reassemble Seabright and put it back in service as part of its fleet.

The Seabright had been replaced in June by a new dredge the Twin Lakes built by DSC Dredge that was trucked into the city in sections and assembled. The new dredge cost just under $5 million.
