POSTLE INDUSTRIES INTRODUCES TUBULAR HARDFACING ELECTRODES
Postle Industries announced its latest hardface welding development tubular hardfacing electrodes for severe abrasion applications. For the dredging and aggregate industries the products are applied to the wear surfaces of dredge pump impellers cutterheads and teeth dredge bucket lips and teeth tooth adaptors cutter arms clam-shell buckets auger suction dredges wear plates and screens crushers hammers and gravel washer augers.
Postle said the tubular design allows for a greater volume of carbides than before for in-creased abrasion resistance. They can be used in any standard electrode holder at lower currents than conventional electrodes. This results in less penetration and less distortion less problems burning through on thin materials and less dilution with the base metal. They are available in sizes ¼-inch 3/8-inch and ½-inch. The ¼-inch can be used as low as 80 amps and is ideal for out of position welding. The flux coating is moisture resistant does not require special storage conditions and will not flake off when damp.
