Boskalis Awarded U.K. Contract

The Defence Infrastructure Organization of the Ministry of Defence awarded Boskalis a EUR 35 million ($38.5 USD) contract to dredge the approach channel to the port of Portsmouth in the U.K. The work will deepen and widen the seven-kilometer long approach channel removing three million cubic meters of hard clay sand and gravel over eight months. Boskalis will use medium-sized trailing suction hopper dredges and backhoe dredges.
