HYDROGRAPHIC SOCIETY OF AMERICA CREATES LATIN AMERICAN CHAPTER
During the last U.S. HYDRO 2015 held in Washington D.C. from March 16 to 19 the Hydrographic Society of America announced the creation of the Latin American Chapter. This becomes the third active chapter after the Houston and Southeast chapters.
During the event a presentation with a brief description of hydrography in the Latin American region was also given explaining the reasoning behind the creation of the chapter – to integrate more than 500 different organizations or institutions that are currently working in hydrography within the 30 countries of this region.
A board of directors established under the bylaws is executing a working plan to integrate the new chapter including a membership campaign and an updated web page certification process and other material in Spanish.
