U.S. NAVY CHOOSES KSI FATHOMETER

Knudsen Systems Inc. (KSI) was awarded an $8.1 million contract by the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Division Keyport to supply equipment for the U.S. Navy.

Under the Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract deliverables will include 320N Navigation Echosounders Echo-Sim sonar simulators and remote displays. The 320N Echosounder was initially designed as a drop-in COTS replacement for the aging UQN-4 fathometer to meet retrofit requirements of several U.S. and foreign Navy surface ship classes. However the 320N has also recently been chosen for several new ship builds including the Zumwalt class destroyers and new Arleigh Burke class guided missile destroyer.

KSI distributes sonar products produced by the Canadian manufacturer Knudsen Engineering Ltd. to U.S. domestic customers in particular U.S. federal and state agencies.
