Damen Delivers Dredge and Tug to Nigeria
Damen delivered Pasam a type STU2208 tug and Daserah a CSD500 cutter suction dredge to a Nigerian customer for river maintenance near the Port Harcourt in Nigeria. The port lies along the Bonny River in the Niger Delta.
Both vessels will work along side a previously delivered Damen CSD500 dredge. The name for the tug Pasam means Daddy Sam and Daserah for the CSD500 means Mummy Sarah.
The cutter suction dredge will perform maintenance dredging in the river where sand banks impede on navigability. The tug will assist the dredge for relocations for refueling and jobs that call for an anchor with its hydraulic deck crane.
