The Port of Los Angeles Confirms New Executive Director

Gene Seroka was confirmed as the new executive director of the Port of Los Angeles on June 11.

“The Los Angeles trade gateway is a vital force in our nation’s economy” Seroka said.

15th District Los Angeles City Councilman Joe Buscaino said he is in favor of Seroka’s commitment to investing in a strong port which would benefit other harbor communities such as San Pedro and Wilmington.

Seroka has more than 25 years of experience in shipping global logistics and executive management. Most recently he was head of commercial in the Americas Region for American President Lines (APL) Limited.

The port said as its new executive director Seroka will be responsible for managing a $938.8 million budget advancing major capital projects growing trade volumes and promoting innovation and sustainable practices.
