Petrofac UK Vessel Chooses Kongsberg

The new Petrofac JSD 6000 deepwater derrick lay vessel will use Kongsberg to supply and integrate all of the electrical telecom and integrated controls systems. The vessel will be built at the Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industry Co. Ltd (ZPMC) yard in China. ZPMC awarded the NOK 230 million (about $37 million) contract to Kongsberg Maritime Engineering (KME) a wholly owned subsidiary of Kongsberg Maritime.

In addition to the electrical telecom and integrated control system Kongsberg will provide project management interface management and engineering services. The products supplied include generators switchboards automation navigation and DP systems radio and satellite communications networking and on-board entertainment safety technology and monitoring systems.
