CARIS and Kongsberg Sign MOU

At Oceanology International 2014 in March CARIS and Kongsberg signed a renewed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). This continues their more than a decade-long partnership in ensuring their hydrographic solutions work hand-in-hand.

Expanding on previous agreements this MOU will continue the migration of Kongsberg Neptune users to the CARIS HIPS and SIPS software. In addition CARIS will be able to provide Kongsberg’s SISQA software with HIPS and SIPS. This will allow users to accurately re-sound velocity correct Kongsberg multi-beam data in CARIS using the original proprietary algorithms. With the renewed MOU both companies also will look to explore on-board data processing and real-time product creation initiatives.
