Technical Papers Selected for WODCON XX The Art of Dredging

Plans are being finalized for the World Dredging Congress WODCON XX to be held June 3 through 7 in Brussels Belgium.

The technical paper committee has selected the abstracts for papers and notified the authors. The technical program is on the theme The Art of Dredging with general topics Alluvial and Deep Sea Mining; Environmental Issues; Management and Economics; Management of Sediments; Methods Equipment and Techniques; and Regulatory Issues.

The detailed schedule of the sessions will be available on the congress’s website www.wodcon.org.

The Ice-breaker on June 3 in the exhibition hall of the Square will be a Belgian craft beer tasting including unfiltered unpasteurized beers accompanied by butter and Belgian raw milk cheeses. Also on the program is a gala dinner in the Autoworld car museum featuring 250 vehicles of various origins from the past century. The group will also visit Brussels Town Hall for the cocktail reception and tour the building. Tickets are limited so attendees are advised to book soon.

The accompanying persons program will include a Surrealism and Art Nouveau tour and chocolate workshop in Brussels and a tour of the “Venice of the North” Bruges. After the congress is a one-day post congress tour to Dunkirk France where one of the most memorable events in wartime history was played out on the beaches.

CEDA has selected the best hotels of all categories in the vicinity of the congress venue the Square-Brussels Meeting Centre with special WODCON rates.
