Soy Transportation Director Will Address Legislative Summit
Mike Steenhoek Executive Director of the Soy Transportation Coalition will address the upcoming National Waterways Conference Legislative Summit. His topic will be the the recent study “America’s Locks and Dams: A Ticking Time Bomb for Agriculture.” The summit will take place on March 27 and 28 at the Madison Hotel in downtown Washington D.C.
Other speakers are: Senator Jim Inhofe ranking member Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works; Representative Bob Gibbs chairman Transportation and Infrastructure Subcommittee on Water Resources and Environment; from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Steve Stockton Director of Civil Works; Major General Michael Walsh Deputy Commanding General Civil and Emergency Operations; and Mark Mazzanti Director Programs Integration Division. Also scheduled are Dr. Sandra Knight deputy associate administrator Insurance and Mitigation FEMA; and David Matsuda the Maritime Administrator. Offering insight on the President’s proposed budget and the FY13 appropriations process will be senior staff from both the House and Senate Appropriations Committees Angie Giancarlo and Roger Cockrell.
