IDR Welcomes New Reporter for Latin America

Katie Worth has joined the International Dredging Review (IDR) staff as reporter for Central and South America starting with the January/February 2012 issue.

From her residence in Santiago Chile she will cover dredging-related news in Central and South America. Her first article on expansion of the Rio de la Plata river system appears in this issue. She will write a roundup of short items of dredging news in Latin America to appear in each issue.

“I’m excited to help IDR expand its coverage southward. As the Panama Canal is being expanded the Rio De la Plata river system is being expanded and countless ports are considering how to handle larger ships this is a very interesting time to report on the dredging industry in Latin America” said Worth.

Judith Powers editor of IDR said “I was looking for a person who is interested in writing about new and different topics and who is accustomed to covering a news beat. Katie’s writing samples showed her to be able to write clearly on a variety of topics. I want to make every issue of IDR interesting to read and Katie’s reporting style will definitely further this goal.”
