Lifting Technologies Provides Safe Manbaskets
Lifting Technologies Inc. exhibited their forklift and crane-suspended manbaskets at CONEXPO/CONAGG in March.
Headquartered in Missoula Montana the company’s systems are used by OSHA in its training program.
Ramona Richardson who is one of two sales managers showed IDR the various lift systems on display and described the two special safety features the company developed.
The detachable test weight system was created in response to OSHA’s Final Rule – 29 CFR Part 1926.550 paragraph (g) which stipulates that a trial lift test is required each time a crane is moved to a new location. The weight provides a 125 percent test load is attached to the bottom of the basket and distributes the weight evenly to the frame and floor. Easy-on/easy-off pins allow the test to be made in as short as 20 minutes.
The other system the company developed is the Quick Claw grip that attaches to the forks of a forklift keeping a slide-on load in place. This brings forklift in compliance with federal and state safety codes.
