Zubieta Hosts U.S. Transportation Head on Panama Canal Visit

On April 14 Alberto Alemán Zubieta welcomed U.S. Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood who visited the waterway as part of an official Panama tour. Zubieta is administrator/CEO of the Panama Canal Authority (ACP).

Zubieta greeted Secretary LaHood and the U.S. delegation at the Cocoli viewpoint of the Pacific expansion site and accompanied them to the Miraflores Locks where he explained the waterway’s operations and briefed the group on the Canal expansion progress.

During his first official visit Secretary LaHood recognized the ACP’s solid management of the Canal and its historic expansion project.
