KSI to Provide Gears for Dredge Wheeler

Karl Senner Inc. of Kenner Louisiana has received a sub-contract to provide reduction gears for the repowering of the Corps hopper Dredge Wheeler.

KSI who is the North American distributer for Reintjes Marine Transmission of Germany will provide two reduction gears for the generator drive and two reduction gears for the propulsion engines.

The $11056965 contract for replacement equipment for the Dredge Wheeler was received by Caterpillar Inc. of Mossville Illinois and includes a propulsion engine and gearbox assembly system (twin shaft) dredge pump generator system (two diesel generator engines) control system interface components and integration propulsion and dredge pump generator controls control wiring harnesses installation support technical services and technical and design services for overall control and functionality.

The contracting agency is the Corps of Engineers Philadelphia District.
