Jan de Nul Lays Keel for Cutter Dredge
On December 14 2008 the keel was laid for the new Jan de Nul dredge Ibn Battuta at the Uljanik Brodogradiliste d.d. Shipyard in Pula Croatia.
The Ibn Battuta is the the first of four large self-propelled cutter dredges with a total installed diesel power of 23250 kW ordered from the Pula shipyard.
Launching is scheduled for early this year and delivery in the second half of 2009.
The other three identical dredges are the Zheng He the Fernão de Magalhães and the JDN8067 to be built in 2009 and 2010.
