Metso Minterals. C-5635. On display: a Model L36/Frame900 dredge pump (14|!|x12|!|x36|!|) introduced at this show. This re-designed pump includes a wet end using a cantilevered design which eliminates the case feet and results in reduced assembly time better wet end support and better pump alignment. The cantilevered design also allows a reduction in impeller overhang which reduces shaft deflection for better packing life.
The dredge pump bearing assemblies have also been redesigned. The Global Bearing Cartridge incorporated in Metso’s X range of slurry pumps takes the place of the traditional two housing design reducing cost and improving Global availability. The housing is a one piece design to insure its sealing capability over the life of the pump. The shaft diameters have been increased to make a stiffer shaft to reduce deflection. The bearing uses a double row spherical roller bearings a cylindrical roller bearing and a steep angle spherical roller thrust bearing. This oil-lubricated bearing can be fitted with end cover seals for underwater as well as above water applications. Bubba Savage will be in the booth to answer all dredging application questions.
